Welcome to GooPlay (the “Platform”). We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) applies to all users of the Platform, including users aged 18 and over (hereinafter referred to as “Adult Users”) and users under the age of 18 (hereinafter referred to as “Younger Users”).
This Policy governs your use of all services provided by the Platform, including but not limited to the Instant Messaging (IM) Module and Games Module (collectively referred to as the “Service Modules”). For detailed information on how we protect the privacy of Younger Users, please refer to the Privacy Policy for Younger Users attached to this Policy.
This Privacy Policy was originally written in English (US). In the event of any conflict between a translated version of this Policy and the English version, the English version shall prevail.
1. The Full Legal Terms
We understand that the use of your personal data by others is a major concern for social platform and game users. Therefore, we have developed this Policy to inform you of how we collect, store, use, disclose and protect your personal information (“personal data”).
This Policy applies to your use of the GooPlay app and all its Service Modules. We recommend that you read this Policy together with our Terms and Conditions of Use (the “Terms”). By accessing, registering for, installing or otherwise using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have fully read, understood and accepted all provisions of this Policy, and you explicitly and voluntarily consent to our collection, storage, use, disclosure and processing of your personal data in accordance with this Policy.
GooPlay reserves the right to modify or update this Policy from time to time. We will notify all users of any material changes to this Policy through a prominent notice on the Platform. We will also update the “Date of Last Revision” at the top of this Policy to reflect the effective date of the updated version. Your continued access to or use of the Platform after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy. If you do not agree to the updated Policy, please stop accessing or using the Platform immediately.

1. What Information Do We Collect: We collect information you voluntarily provide, information automatically collected when you use the Service Modules, and information obtained from third-party sources (e.g., social media platforms). The specific collection scope varies by Service Module (see Section 4 for details).
2. How We Use Your Information: We use your personal data to provide, improve and optimize the Platform and all Service Modules, ensure user safety, prevent fraud, and provide personalized services (e.g., game recommendations).
3. Data Storage & Transfer: We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the services or comply with legal obligations. Your data may be stored on servers located in multiple countries (including the United States), and we will ensure compliance with relevant cross-border data transfer laws.
4. How We Share Your Information: We do not sell your personal data to any third parties. We may share your data with our service providers, business partners and affiliated companies only for legitimate business purposes, or as required by law.
5. Your Rights: You have the right to access, correct, delete your personal data, withdraw your consent, and submit complaints. The rights of Younger Users are protected with additional safeguards (see the Privacy Policy for Younger Users).
6. Changes to This Policy: We will notify you of material changes and update the revision date. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the updates.
3. Applicability
This Policy applies to all users of the Platform, including Adult Users and Younger Users. For Younger Users, the Privacy Policy for Younger Users shall be deemed an integral part of this Policy, and in case of any conflict between the two, the Privacy Policy for Younger Users shall prevail for matters related to Younger Users.
4. What Information Do We Collect
We collect personal data when you register for an account, use any of the Service Modules, and interact with the Platform. We also collect information from third-party sources and automatically collect technical and behavioral information. The specific collection scope is detailed below, including module-specific information:
4.1 Information You Choose to Provide
Sensitive personal data includes information revealing racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health, sexual orientation, or official identification numbers. We minimize the collection of sensitive personal data and only process it with your explicit consent or as permitted by law.
You may provide some or all of the following information when engaging in specific activities (e.g., registration, content upload, payment, contact with customer service). The information provided may vary by Service Module:
1. Registration Information: Age, username, password, preferred language, email address or phone number (required for account verification). For Younger Users, only username, password and birthday are collected (see the Privacy Policy for Younger Users for details).
2. Profile Information: Full name, profile photo, social media account information (if you choose to link), and other information you voluntarily add to your profile. Younger Users’ profile information is limited to non-sensitive content (e.g., no phone number, address).
3. Module-Specific User-Generated Content (UGC):
  (1) IM Module: Messages, voice messages, video messages, pictures, files and other content you send or receive through one-to-one chats or group chats.
  (2) Games Module: Game-related content you publish (e.g., game screenshots, battle records) and in-game nickname.
  (3) Game Rooms Module: Text chats, interactive props records, and room entry/usage data generated during Game Rooms gameplay (consistent with IM Module's privacy protection standards).
4. Payment Information: PayPal or other third-party payment information (only collected when you make in-app purchases, e.g., game virtual currency recharge). For Younger Users, payment information is only collected with the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian.
5. Opt-in Choices & Communication Preferences: Your preferences for receiving platform notifications, marketing messages (you may opt out at any time) and communication channels.
6. Account Verification Information: For safety and security purposes, we may ask you to provide a phone number or link a Facebook account to verify your identity (to prevent fake accounts). We guarantee that your phone number will not be used for marketing purposes without your opt-in.
7. Other Information: Information in correspondence with our customer service, and information you share through surveys, challenges, sweepstakes or contests (e.g., gender, preferences, likeness). For Younger Users, such information is only collected with guardian consent.
4.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the Platform and its Service Modules, we automatically collect certain technical and behavioral information to improve the service quality and user experience. We only collect such information with your explicit authorization (where required by law):
1. Basic Device Information: Device ID, IP address, web browser type and version, operating system, device model, and device settings.
2. Location Information: Only collected if you explicitly authorize the Platform to access your location (you may revoke this authorization at any time in your device settings). For Younger Users, location information is not collected unless required for specific game functions and with guardian consent.
3. Module-Specific Behavioral Information:
  (1) IM Module: Chat time, chat frequency, contact list (friends/groups), and interaction records (e.g., read status of messages).
  (2) Games Module: Game login time, game duration, character level, battle records, in-game purchases, virtual asset usage, and game progress.
  (3) Game Rooms Module: Room creation/joining records, gameplay duration in Game Rooms, interactive behavior with other players, and virtual currency consumption records (e.g., room entry fees, decorative props purchases).
4. Log File Information: Access time, page views, service errors, and other log data related to your use of the Platform (used for troubleshooting and service optimization).
5. Camera & Microphone Information: Only accessed and collected when you explicitly authorize (e.g., to make video calls in IM, or record voice messages). We do not collect such information without your authorization.
The following permissions are requested only for corresponding functions, and you may manage them in your device settings at any time:
  (1) Location: used for region-specific game services (if applicable); denying location access will not affect core functions like IM.
  (2) Camera: used for IM video calls; denying camera access will disable video call functions.
  (3) Microphone: used for voice messages and IM video calls; denying microphone access will disable voice and video call functions.
4.3 Information We Obtain from Other Sources
We may receive personal data about you from the following third-party sources, subject to relevant laws and the third party’s privacy policy:
1. Social Media Platforms: If you choose to register or log in using a social media account (e.g., Facebook, Apple, Google), we may collect information from these platforms (e.g., profile photo, username, gender, birthday, age) to simplify the registration process and provide personalized services. For Younger Users, this requires guardian consent.
2. Third-Party Service Providers: We may collect information from our authorized third-party partners, such as advertising partners (to provide targeted ads), payment partners (to process payments), and analytics providers (to analyze service usage).
5. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data only for legitimate purposes permitted by law and this Policy, primarily to provide, improve and protect the Platform and its Service Modules. The specific uses include, but are not limited to:
1. Authenticate your identity, enable you to log in to your account, and access all Service Modules (e.g., verify your account to use IM chat, log in to games).
2. Provide module-specific services:
  (1) IM Module: Enable you to send/receive messages, make voice/video calls, manage friends/groups, and ensure the security of your chat content (e.g., detect and block harmful messages).
  (2) Games Module: Save your game progress, character data and battle records, provide in-game services (e.g. management, virtual asset usage), and recommend games based on your preferences.
3. Remember your preferences to avoid re-entering information (e.g., saved login status, preferred language).
4. Provide personalized content and services, including game recommendations and targeted ads (you may opt out of marketing ads at any time).
5. Improve, test and optimize the Platform and Service Modules (e.g., analyze user behavior to optimize IM chat speed, improve game performance).
6. Develop and test new products, features and services related to the Service Modules (e.g., new IM functions, new game modes).
7. Monitor service metrics (e.g., number of visitors, traffic, demographic patterns) to understand user needs and improve service quality.
8. Diagnose and fix technical problems, handle user feedback and customer service inquiries (e.g., track your IP address to resolve issues with IM or games).
9. Prevent fraud, abuse, illegal activities and security risks (e.g., detect account theft, block harmful content in IM, prevent unauthorized in-game purchases), and comply with anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing requirements.
10. Verify your age to ensure compliance with laws (e.g., ensure Younger Users use the Platform under guardian supervision, restrict access to age-inappropriate game content).
11. Use UGC published in public areas (e.g., game screenshots) in our advertising and promotional materials (with your implicit consent; you may revoke this consent by deleting the relevant content).
12. Retain records of communications with you (including complaints) to resolve disputes and improve customer service.
13. Combine all information we collect or receive about you for the foregoing purposes, to provide more accurate and personalized services.
14. Other purposes disclosed to you at the time of collecting your information, or with your explicit consent.
Special Note for Younger Users: We will not use Younger Users’ personal data for any commercial purposes (including but not limited to advertising and marketing), and will not use their UGC for promotional materials without guardian consent.
6. How We Share Your Information
We are committed to protecting your trust and will not sell your personal data to any third parties. We may share your personal data with the following parties only for legitimate business purposes or as required by law:
6.1 Service Providers and Business Partners
We share your personal data with authorized third-party service providers and business partners to help us operate the Platform and provide better services. These partners are required to comply with this Policy and relevant laws, and are prohibited from using your data for other purposes. The specific sharing scope includes:
  1. Payment processors (to process in-game purchases and other payments);
  2. Analytics providers (to analyze user behavior and optimize Service Modules);
  3. Advertising partners (to provide targeted ads, excluding Younger Users’ data);
  4. Data storage and hosting providers (to store your data securely);
  5. Customer service providers (to handle your inquiries about IM or games);
  6. Game development partners (only share game-related data, e.g., game progress, to provide in-game services).
We have integrated the following third-party Software Development Kits (SDKs) to implement specific functions of the Platform, and the collection and processing of personal data by such SDKs are only for the corresponding business purposes. The SDK providers will collect and use your relevant information in accordance with their own privacy policies, and we have required the SDK providers to take sufficient data security protection measures:
1. Getui Push SDK: It is used to provide the Platform's push notification service (e.g., in-app message reminders, service update notifications). This SDK may collect your basic device information (Device ID, IP address, operating system type and version, device model) and push status data (e.g., push delivery status) as described in Section 4.2 of this Policy. 2. Alibaba Cloud Human-Machine Verification SDK: It is used to provide security verification service for the Platform's account registration, login and key operation links (to prevent fake account registration and malicious operation). This SDK may collect your basic device information (Device ID, IP address, device model) and operation behavior data (e.g., verification page access records) as described in Section 4.2 of this Policy. 6.2 Within Our Corporate Group
We may share your personal data with our parent company, subsidiaries or other affiliated companies within our corporate group, to provide consistent services across the group and improve service quality.
6.3 For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your personal data if required by law, legal process or government request, including but not limited to:
  1. Responding to subpoenas, court orders, legal process or law enforcement inquiries;
  2. Protecting and defending the rights, interests, safety and security of GooPlay, our affiliates, users or the public;
  3. Enforcing the Terms and this Policy, and resolving disputes;
  4. Complying with applicable laws, regulations and regulatory requirements (e.g., reporting illegal activities in IM or games).
6.4 With Your Consent
We may share your personal data for other purposes only with your explicit consent or further instructions (e.g., sharing game records with other players).
6.5 Module-Specific Sharing Rules
1. IM Module: Your chat content is only shared with the recipients of the chat (one-to-one or group members). We do not share your chat content with third parties unless required by law.
2. Games Module: Your game progress, battle records and in-game nickname may be shared with other players (e.g., leaderboards, team members) to enhance the game experience. Your personal data (e.g., phone number) will not be shared with other players. Built-in voice chat data in select mini-games is only shared with other players in the same game session.
3. Game Rooms Module: Your text chat content, room entry/usage records and virtual currency consumption data in Game Rooms are only shared with other users in the same game room. We do not share such data with third parties unless required by law. Your private personal data (e.g., phone number, email) will not be disclosed to other room users.
6.6 Third-Party Services You Access
If you use third-party services (e.g., Facebook, Google) to log in to the Platform, these third-party services may collect information about you (including your activity on the Platform) in accordance with their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data, in accordance with applicable laws. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights:
  1. Right to Access: You may request access to the personal data we have collected about you (e.g., your profile information, IM chat records, game progress).
  2. Right to Correct: You may request to correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data (e.g., update your profile information, correct your age).
  3. Right to Delete: You may request to delete your personal data (e.g., delete your IM chat records, or the entire account). For details on account deletion, please refer to our Account Deletion Notice.
  4. Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent to our collection, use or disclosure of your personal data at any time (e.g., revoke authorization for location, camera or microphone access). Withdrawing consent may affect your ability to use certain Service Modules (e.g., revoking microphone access will prevent you from sending voice messages in IM).
  5. Right to Lodge a Complaint: If you have any complaints about our handling of your personal data, you may contact our customer service (see Section 13) or the relevant regulatory authority.
  6. Right to Data Portability: You may request to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and have the right to transmit such data to another data controller, where technically feasible.
7.1 How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of the above rights, please send your request to our customer service via email at gooplay-service@gooplay.com, with your account information (e.g., username, email address) for verification. We will respond to your request within the time limit required by applicable law (generally 30 days) after verifying your identity.
Requests for data portability shall be submitted via the same email channel, and we will provide the data in a standard format (e.g., CSV) within the legal time limit.
7.2 Special Rights for Younger Users’ Guardians
Parents or legal guardians of Younger Users may exercise the above rights on behalf of the Younger User (e.g., access, correct or delete the Younger User’s personal data, withdraw consent). To exercise these rights, guardians need to provide proof of guardianship (e.g., ID, birth certificate) for verification.
7.3 Account Deletion
If you only stop logging in and do not submit an account deletion request, your account and related personal data will be retained in accordance with the storage period rules set out in Section 8.1.
Account deletion is an immediate and irreversible action. Once you successfully submit and complete account deletion, we will directly and permanently erase all your personal data and module-specific data (including IM chat records, game progress and all virtual asset information) right away, with no retention period. Only data that we are mandated to retain by applicable laws (e.g., anti-fraud records, dispute evidence) will be kept for the legally required minimum period.

8. Data Storage
1. Storage Period: We retain your personal data only as necessary to provide services to you or to comply with legal obligations. After the retention period expires, we will permanently delete or anonymize your personal data (anonymized data cannot be linked to any individual user). 
  (1) For Adult Users: If you cease logging in for 120 consecutive months without deleting your account, we will anonymize your personal data (excluding data that must be retained under applicable laws) so that it can no longer identify you. 
  (2) For Younger Users: If you cease logging in for 120 consecutive months without deleting your account, we will permanently delete your personal data (except for data required to be retained by mandatory laws and regulations).
2. Storage Locations: For users in Southeast Asian jurisdictions (including but not limited to Indonesia and Vietnam), your personal data will be stored on servers located within the respective jurisdiction in compliance with local data localization laws. For users in other regions, your data may be stored on servers located in multiple countries (including the United States). By using the Platform, you consent to the cross-border transfer, storage and processing of your personal data in accordance with applicable cross-border data transfer laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PDP Law).

9. Security
9.1 How GooPlay Protects Your Personal Information
We have implemented reasonable and appropriate security measures to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorized access or disclosure. These measures include:
  1. Secured servers protected by firewalls and encryption technologies (e.g., SSL/TLS encryption for data transmission);
  2. Access control measures (only authorized personnel can access your personal data);
  3. Regular security audits and vulnerability scans to detect and fix potential security risks;
  4. Module-specific security measures:
  (1) IM Module: Chat content is encrypted during transmission and storage, and we have mechanisms to detect and block harmful or illegal messages;
  (2) Games Module: In-game payment data and built-in voice chat data (for select mini-games) are encrypted, and we have anti-fraud mechanisms to prevent unauthorized purchases; 
  (3) Game Rooms Module: Text chat content and virtual currency consumption data in Game Rooms are encrypted during transmission and storage, with anti-fraud and anti-abuse mechanisms to protect user data security.
Please note that no website or internet transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hacking, data loss or other security breaches will never occur. We will notify you and the relevant regulatory authorities of any data breach that may affect your rights and interests, in accordance with applicable laws.
In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify competent authorities and affected users within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, where required by GDPR and other applicable laws.
9.2 How You Can Keep Your Information Secure
You are responsible for keeping your account information (especially your password) secure. Please take the following measures to protect your personal data:
  1. Do not disclose your password to any third parties or share your account with others;
  2. Choose a strong password (combination of letters, numbers and symbols) and change it regularly;
  3. Log out of your account after using the Platform on a public device;
  4. Promptly report any unauthorized access to your account or suspicious activity to our customer service;
  5. For Younger Users: Guardians should assist in protecting the account password and monitor the use of the Platform.
GooPlay will not be held responsible for any loss of personal data caused by your failure to keep your account information secure.
10. Younger Users (Under 18)
Younger Users are divided into two groups:
  1. Children under the age of 13: subject to strict COPPA compliance. We do not intentionally collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
  2. Users aged 13 to 17: may use the Platform with parental or guardian supervision.
Verifiable parental consent may be obtained via email confirmation, SMS verification, or payment confirmation, as required by applicable laws.
We are committed to protecting the privacy of Younger Users and complying with relevant laws and regulations (e.g., COPPA). The Platform supports Younger Users to use the Service Modules under the supervision of their parents or legal guardians. Key protections for Younger Users include:
  1. Data collection is limited to “minimum necessary” (only collect username, password, birthday and module-specific non-sensitive content);
  2. No collection of sensitive information (e.g., phone number, address, health information) without guardian consent;
  3. No use of Younger Users’ data for commercial purposes (including advertising and marketing);
  4. Module-specific restrictions:
  (1) IM Module: Restrict chats with strangers, filter harmful content, and enable guardians to view chat records (with consent); 
  (2) Games Module: Restrict in-game purchases without guardian consent, do not collect unnecessary device information, and limit built-in voice chat access in mini-games for minor users; 
  (3) Game Rooms Module: Restrict text chat interaction with unknown users, filter harmful text content, and enable guardians to view Game Rooms activity records (with consent); Game Rooms provide no voice chat functionality for all users.
  5. Guardians have the right to access, correct, delete the Younger User’s data and withdraw consent.

11. Disclaimer
1. You may use the IM Module to communicate with other users, but you should exercise caution when disclosing personal information to other users. We are not responsible for the personal information you choose to disclose to other users.
2. We recommend that you do not include sensitive personal information (e.g., email address, phone number, address, credit card details, national ID number) in your profile or any UGC (IM messages, game content), as such information may be accessed by other users and subject to abuse.
3. Any personal information or UGC you voluntarily upload or publish on the Platform constitutes your explicit consent to our processing of such information in accordance with this Policy. You shall bear all risks arising from such disclosure.
4. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services linked to the Platform (e.g., social media platforms, third-party games). You should review the privacy policies of these third parties before using their services.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may modify or update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in laws, regulations or our business practices. We will notify all users of any material changes through a prominent notice on the Platform (e.g., pop-up window, in-app message) at least 7 days before the changes take effect. We will also update the “Date of Last Revision” at the top of this Policy. Your continued use of the Platform after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
